Tell you how to install golf cart Tie Rod Ends

  1. Lift the front of the golf cart:
    • Use a jack to lift the front of the golf cart off the ground.
    • Place jack stands under the front frame to support the golf cart securely.
  2. Locate the tie rod ends:
    • The tie rod ends connect the steering linkage to the front wheels. Locate the tie rod ends on both sides of the front wheels.
  3. Remove the old tie rod ends:
    • Use a wrench or socket set to remove the nuts or bolts securing the tie rod ends to the steering linkage and the wheel knuckle.
    • If the tie rod ends are attached with cotter pins, remove the cotter pins first before loosening the nuts.
    • Carefully separate the tie rod ends from the steering linkage and wheel knuckle.
  4. Inspect and clean the components:
    • Examine the steering linkage and wheel knuckle for any signs of damage or wear. If necessary, clean them to remove any dirt or debris.
  5. Install the new tie rod ends:
    • Insert the new tie rod ends into the steering linkage and wheel knuckle, aligning them with the mounting holes.
    • Reattach the nuts or bolts and tighten them securely. If applicable, install new cotter pins to lock the nuts in place.
  6. Grease the tie rod ends (if required):
    • Some tie rod ends need to be greased. If yours require greasing, follow the manufacturer’s guidelines to apply the appropriate grease.
  7. Adjust tie rod length (if necessary):
    • Properly aligning the front wheels is crucial for steering control.
  8. Lower the golf cart:
    • Carefully remove the jack stands and lower the golf cart back to the ground.
